Philly's Color Run 2012!

Thousands gathered by the Rocky steps awaiting the happiest 5K on the planet.  Over 23,000 people to be exact, making it the third largest 5K and selling out the event very quickly!  I've run in runs before, but nothing as fun as the Color Run.  Team Color Me Maybe! is definitely already looking forward to next years Color Run.  Our team slogan for this awesome event was "Hey I just ran here, and this is crazy, but here's my T-shirt, so color me maybe!"
Don't know what the Color Run is?  You don't know what you're missing out on.  It's a 5K run (3.1 miles) where they throw powdered paint out at you.  You are literally a running canvas.  You start out in a white t-shirt and you end with a colored t-shirt.  The run also caters to runners of all experience.  If you want to walk it, go right ahead because they don't time you.  Not sure if you could survive 3 miles?  You so can!  It didn't even feel like 3 miles that's how much fun we had!  It's also a great event for all ages.  We saw kids from babies being pushed in strollers to young children running in it.  Looking for a Color Run near you?  Go to the Color Run's website.  They have different locations across the country.
Not only was Philly's Color Run in one of the most historical cities in the U.S, but the course looped us from the Art Museum down passed boat house row and then ending at the Rocky steps.  It was a pretty awesome course with music along the way as well.

Aside from the color being thrown at you, the next best thing is how organized and well put together the event was.  With so many people running in such a short distanced run, I expected it to be chaos, but it was far from that.  We arrived and got parking on the street roughly 4-5 blocks from the start/finish line.  They had different tents set up for various stations.  They had a check-in tent, a water tent with free water, a merchandise tent (which was hardly any wait at all to buy stuff) and a few others.  All tents were clearly marked too with tall flags that you could see from a good distance.  There were plenty of bathrooms and at the end of the run, there was a huge party where you could dance around and throw up your powdered paint packets.  It.Was.Awesome!  Afterwards, they even had blow stations where any loose paint was blown off of you so you didn't ruin your car seats.
We had a blast.  Thank-you Color Run for allowing us to participate and such a wonderful event!  PS. the awesome event even sponsors a local charity, Philadelphia's Back on my Feet, so it's for a good cause!
We went all out and made awesome tutus and wore crazy socks and glasses for the run as well.  To add to our craziness, at every color zone, I would run up to the volunteers shooting the paint and jump like a nut to get covered by every color.  It's safe to say that I succeeded in being covered in paint since its over 24 hours and 2 showers later and I still have pink paint on my arms and legs.

Before the run we made sure to snap plenty of photos of us nice and clean with our cute tutu's on.

Getting ready and putting out tutu's on!
