In hopes of taking more photos and keeping my friends and family updated on my life, I'm starting a blog!
How I got where I am today:
Dad urged me to tryout the whole class two gig back in 2006....I applied got hired for the summer and it rocked, from the people I worked with to getting to see crazy shit every night during the bar break shit show. In the mean time, I was going to Atlantic Cape Community College for psychology and Dad again, urged me to take the Civil Service Test. I told him (before finishing the academy), "dad i don't want to be a cop for my career". Glad I listened because I took it and when results came out in the Fall of 2006, I was at the top of the list.
Winter passed by and in March I was asked to come back to work early. I worked through that summer as a class two to only be hired full time in October of 2007 at 21 years old. Cha-Ching! Bar money =) and a new car.
Finished my associates degree (FINALLY!) in June of 2008...only took me like 4 years to do it, but..in my defense I did change my major from biology to psychology and was working full time while going to school as a full time student. Enrolled in Rutgers after taking a semester off and finished there in three semesters graduating last year with a bachelor's in psychology. I probably won't ever do anything with that degree....but it's there AND i finished college WITH honors while working full time and going to school full time as well.
Then I made the change over into detectives this past month and wow what a difference. I work more days of the week but having off most weekends and being done most days by 4pm is wonderful! I get so much DONE! I get a run in, i get to the gym, I get more cleaning done and can still have time to wind down and relax. So that's where I am today and how i got here!
Now for a little fun questionaire:
What is your favorite color?
My favorite color would be green! You would think otherwise based on the kitchen supplies I've been buying (which are strictly purple and pink). But green is def my most favorite color!
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
A lot of health foods! Fruit, low fat string cheese, unsweetened applesauce, Greek Yogurt, turkey lunchmeat and water.
What is the last book you read?
Last book i completed? HAHA no clue. Probably the twilight Saga. I have a habit of starting books and getting close to finishing them and just not finishing them for some reason. Most of the books I read aren't storylines so it's not like I'm missing out on some big ending. Like right now...I'm in the middle of Assholes finish first AND the Chelsey handler book written by people she knows talking about the lies she's told...I'm only one chapter in on this one that's why I can't remember the name of the book.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?
Chris Christie....but I would need longer than a week to fix everything he fucked up in the public sector.
What was the last movie you went to see?
War Horse. Went with my Dad, jen, Tommy and Nicholas. It was such a good movie!
If you could be any character in fiction, whom would you be?
Sulley from Monsters Ink. Hes pretty cool looking and gets to scare people.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Katherine Heigl or Mariska Hargitay. Mariska is pretty bad ass in Law and order and could pull off my bad ass-ness but Katherine Heigl was hilarious in killers and could pull my character off.
If you had only six months left to live, what would you do with the time?
Travel the damn world! Thanks to my sister, I have been getting awesome opportunities to see some amazing places. I've been to Hawaii thanks to her and in June, I'm going to go visit Seattle, Washington, parts of Canada, and Southern Alaska....three to cross off the bucket list. In the future, we are planning a back packing trip in Australia. I've been to Italy, but other the above said places, I want to see South America, Ireland, England, Greece, Fiji and so many more places.
If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
Saying that I clear 20 mil after taxes.....donate 5 mil to Alex's Lemonade Stand, 5 mil to Alzheimer's association...a mil each to my family members so thats (6), some money to my friends....leaving 2 mil for myself. One mil to be invested so i have it if needed and so my kids would be well off, and another mil to spend where I see fit such as......a house, new SUV, and plenty of new camera equipment because I've been drooling over some very new expensive cameras :)
Who do you like best, you mom or dad?
Trick question. I love both just the same. My Dad does so much for me and is always there. He's encouraged me and pushed me to get to where I am at. My mom on the other hand is my mom. I love her to death. She doesn't remember who I am, but that's okay because for about 19 years of my life she DID know who I was and knew that I was her daughter and treated me as if nothing else mattered in the world but me. Now, she is my mother and I still know this, therefore I still love her as much as before, even if she doesn't recognize me.
